Welcome to Anacortes Catholic Schoolhouse!
Our chapter meets in the Fr. Auer Center of St. Mary Church in Anacortes, on Tuesday mornings at 8:40. Our day begins with morning prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Latin for Dialectic students and chorus for everyone else.
Pre-grammar (ages 3-4) and Grammar (grades K-6) students then move into their academics where they will learn and review memory work, enjoy hands-on art and science, snack, and student presentations. Babies are welcome to stay with their mothers, while toddlers will have fun in the nursery.
Our Dialectic students (grades 7-9) continue with similar focus but will experience topics at their level through literature, writing, Socratic discussions, and famous speech recitation. Our upper-level fine arts program offers quarterly seminars integrating art, music history, and culture in addition to hands-on projects in the style of famous artists of the time period. A hands-on science class every other week rounds out the dialectic program.
We close our class day at 12:00 pm with the Angelus. All families are encouraged to share lunch and fellowship together before heading home.
Each family with children in the Pre-Grammar or Grammar stage is responsible for purchasing the Tour Guide, History Cards, and Music Memory Work CD. Chapter members can take advantage of our member discount offered through the chapter director.
